Students were asked to develop a website using GoogleSites that contained information about:
Digital access, accommodations, and programs that help to increase access
Digital etiquette and communication
Digital rights and responsibilities: including AUP (Acceptable Use Policy), digital law, and literacy
Each section needed to include at least three web resources. These resources could be videos, websites, or organizations on the web that related to the topic.
The GoogleSite was also required to use at least one survey. The project was meant to give educators and their students a better understanding of all that the Digital World includes.

Process In order to begin this assignment I first collected a wealth of information on the varying topics over the course of the seven week class. I saved interesting files, facts, and websites in a folder on my flashdrive.
Once I had all the information, I began to develop my website. This time, I chose to complete all the development in a word document. After each section was formatted and complete, I cut and pasted the information to my web page. Once I had pasted the information to the page, I then went back and added visuals and links.
By archiving all the information I needed in advance, I saved myself hours of work. This is not to say that this project took me a few hours. It definitely took a minimum of approximately 24 hours over the course of a week to put it all together and fine tune everything.
I used Jing to help me take screenshots to liven up and brighten my webpage. I then went back, double checked every page and made sure I had added the Creative Commons license to each page.
Reflecton Though this particular assignment did take a multitude of hours, I found it much easier and more useful than the Blackboard assignment from EDT6020. In addition, I found that making the site using MicrosoftWord prior to placing the information on GoogleSites saved me a lot of headaches. The formatting still had to get readjusted from time to time because GoogleSites is not very compatible with MicrosoftWord. I constantly had to correct and adjust my formatting, particularly with bulleting and indentations. For some reason, GoogleSites continuously disrupted the alignment and font size of my text. However, I found it was still somewhat less frustrating than just using GoogleSites. When I tried to just type on GoogleSites it continuously changed the formatting throughout a page. It was very inconsistent. Regardless, I’m glad my project is complete and I do feel like I did learn quite a bit about Digital Access and Communication.
